Meet the Winchesters and Qui-Qui
Joanie and Marcel Winchester have been very active in the dog world all their lives, including being international judges for the American pit bull terrier, however, they had little experience with actual dog training when they retired from the American pit bull breed and became dogless. I knew that wouldn't last (LOL!) and sent Joanie an Int. Ch. DanBar Lord Drago X Int. Ch. DanBar Darque Energy son who I had wanted to keep but just knew I could not keep three males here.
I'm so glad I sent him to Joanie and Marcel, as he lives in sunny North Florida now and is living the life as the only dog. Joanie, with the help of talented local trainer Morgan Wells has discovered the joy of working dog titles. Despite some serious health issues she has been powering through and earned several titles with Qui-Qui. She has shown him at the International shows, earning his Int. Champion junior and adult title. She next got her AKC Canine Good Citizen title and Urban CGC as well. She is now earning some "trick dog" titles and exploring other venues. Her plans are to earn the schutzhund "B" (Traffic Sure Companion Dog title) and continue earning FastCat (lure coursing) and FitDog titles.
She "shares" Qui with her husband, Marcel, who begin training (again with Morgan's help) for trailing and Search and Rescue work. They have really impressed a lot of people and the local sheriff's office paid for Qui and Marcel to go through the certification process, making them mission ready. They succeeded in this tough, multi-day testing and Qui became an official "K9" on Feb 22, 2025!
I am so proud of all three! As a breeder I always love to see my dogs being trained and put to good use.
